Tasmania Roadtrip - Week 4 - Franklin

Franklin was first settled in 1838 under the stewardship of Lady Franklin, wife of the then Lt Governor. In 1850 it was proclaimed a town. In the early 1900s it was a bustling river port, had its own hydroelectric scheme and agriculture was booming. It is now just one of many small towns along the Huon Highway.
